Breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful way to bond with and provide for your infant. Learn about the ins and outs of preparing to breastfeed with this class in which you’ll learn about:

  • Benefits of breastfeeding
  • Breastfeeding anatomy and associated hormones
  • What to expect in the first days and weeks of breastfeeding
  • How to prepare for breastfeeding
  • Latch and positioning
  • Possible concerns and how to address them
  • How partners can support and help
  • Community support for breastfeeding
  • Things to consider when going back to work
  • Pumping and hand expression
  • Proper storage of breastmilk
  • The answers to all those little questions you have about feeding your baby

Moms are encouraged to bring a support person (partner, friend, family, doula). Be sure to bring your questions so that I can make sure that they are addressed in the class.

2015 dates: Available upon request. Classes are 2.5 hours and are $35.
