My path to birth work…

My name is Cinda Brown and I am the mother of two girls. My path to childbirth education, birth doula care and breastfeeding support began with the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period with my first daughter. During and after this journey, I was called to help other families and I began supporting mothers and their partners as a doula. I attended trainings, researched, read and studied to learn as much as I possibly could, eager to learn. What I learned in this period was extremely transformative and enlightening.

Along this path, I was introduced to Birthing From Within prenatal classes by a local San Diego mentor. Her confidence and presence really left an impression on me, and when she later offered a class for birth workers, I enthusiastically signed up. This was the start of my journey with Birthing From Within. I was hooked and I knew that this was exactly what I needed. I signed up for the Introductory Workshop and then attended the Advanced Workshop, inspired by the philosophy of Birthing From Within which focuses on experience and connection rather than on outcome.

I believe that all women and partners deserve to learn how to be present and mindful, birthing in awareness.

My role as your childbirth mentor

My goal as a doula and childbirth educator is to mentor and encourage you with non-judgmental support. I’m here to listen, hold space, and validate, showing compassion for where you are and from where you’ve come from. It’s very easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of available information, and I don’t intend to provide the very same information you can read in books or find online. I want to help you to connect…with your partner, your baby, and yourself as you walk your own path to parenthood and beyond.

Supporting military families is an important part of my birth practice

I am also committed to supporting active duty military mothers and military spouses here in the San Diego area. As a military member myself, it is important to me to see that our military families are supported without judgment throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am familiar with resources available within the local San Diego military community as well as the unique challenges that a military family may need to navigate.
